ATCs are miniature works of art. They are signed, dated & titled on the back & then traded (never sold). For our swap, they should be 90% polymer clay. You can use any other media you can think of. I remember hearing someone say that clay ATCs are cherished because they are not common. It takes more to make a clay card than to draw a picture. So take pride in the ATCs you produce & create them with the best that’s in you!
Swap Details
- Deadline for sign up: September 26th Clay Day.
- We will exchange cards at the October 24th meeting.
- You must make 10 ATC’s for the swap.
- Please make one extra ATC for the Guild’s collection. This is optional but it would be great to have a set to display in our permanent gallery.
- IF YOU SIGN UP YOU ARE OBLIGATED TO MAKE 10 ATC’s. No backing out!
Swap Rules
- Each card should be exactly 2.5” x 3.5”.
- The card should be no thinner than a #2 on an Atlas pasta machine.
- On the backside of the ATC should have this information:
- Your name
- Contact information
- Date
- Title of ATC
- Number of ATC
- About numbering the ATCs:
- Generally, most ATCs are originals. That means there are no duplicates and it’s the only one like it.
- If you have more than one ATC that looks exactly the same, number each one as 1/20, 2/20, 3/20, 4/20, etc.
- If you have a set of ATCs that are not the same but carry the same theme, this is called a series. I usually set my series apart by titling each & placing a number behind the title so that it is distinguished from my original series piece.
- Note: The information on the back of your card doesn’t have to be attached. If you can attach it using a transfer, great. If not, a small business card or index card with your information on it will be just as good.
Whatever design you want to make on your ATCs is up to you. Have fun with this!!! And that’s an order!!! Let your imagination run wild!
For more information on ATC’s go to www.cedarseed.com/air/atc.html. I found this site to be very informative on the ATC. I have also learned about a group in Denver that gets together and trades ATC’s twice a month. Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ATC_MakeTrade/ This group started up the first ever trading session held in the United States. And if you really get into the ATC thing check out www.atcquarterly.com.
